It is with heartfelt sadness that we the family announce the Passing of a beautiful mother Marilyn Jean Amey on October 9,2024 at the Cape Breton regional Hospital with loving family at her side.
Born in Sydney Mines she was the daughter of the late Richard and Carrie Harding.
Mom is survived by daughters Denise Walker, Kimberly Kempt (Derrick) and Carrie Lin Baxter (Brian); son Derrick (Lisa) Amey; grandchildren Shaelynn, Mandy (Sandy), Darren (Lee-Ann), Bryan “BO” (Holly), Vickie, Stephen (Renèe) and Makayla (Nathan); great grandchildren Jillian, James, Colton, Brynn, Meadow and Blakely Rae; great great grandchild Ava.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by sisters Emily Morris and Lorraine MacMullin.
Mom loved spending time at Indian Beach listening to music with her best friend Gloria Brady, she also enjoyed sitting on her step talking with her neighbors.
A special thank you to her nieces Carol and Judy for looking out for their Aunt Marnie, and also to our family friend, Frank Membourquette for all his support during this difficult time.
Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery.
Donations may be made to Cape Breton Palliative Care in the Regional Hospital.
