Aucoin, Andre Joseph

Halifax, NS

March 13, 1951 - December 27, 2024

André Joseph Aucoin, 73, of Halifax, NS passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer on December 27, 2024.

He was born on March 13, 1951 in Cheticamp, Nova Scotia and was the son of Rita (Bourgeois) and Clarence Aucoin. André always had a passion for music and storytelling, he started his career in music in a band called The Phantoms and went on to create albums of his own. His songs talk about his love for Cheticamp, Acadian heritage, Cap-Rouge and our ancestors.

André also worked at Moirs chocolate factory up until their closure in 2007. Above all else, André’s main passion was being an incredible father to his two daughters.

André was the ultimate girl dad, the kindest soul, and the greatest kind of human. André had a knack for befriending any and everyone he crossed paths with. You would never catch him without a smile (and sunglasses) on his face and he would always be the first person to offer any one a helping hand or words of wisdom. André was always singing and playing his guitar and had a love for artists like The Beatles and Bob Dylan. He was a genuine, compassionate, beautiful person and will be missed dearly by everyone that knew and loved him.

André is pre deceased by his mother and father, Rita (Bourgeois) and Clarence Aucoin, brother, Edgar Aucoin, sister, Patricia Aucoin and the girls mom, Paulette Sampson.

André is survived by his brothers, Maurice Aucoin and Dennis Aucoin, and his two daughters, Brittany Aucoin and Katrina Aucoin.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

André was a legend and his legacy will continue on through his music and his daughters. Rock & Roll.
