Baker, Barbara Elizabeth, age 69, of Halifax passed away suddenly on February 11, 2023 in Parkstone Enhanced Care.
Born in Halifax she was the daughter of the late, George and Eileen Baker. Prior to retirement she was employed with Maritime Tel & Tel and Tel-a-Direct.
Until recently she was an active member of the C.W.L and served in the ministries of Hospitality and Prayer Shawls at Saint Benedict Parish. Barbara was an avid knitter, reader and loved to travel. She will be missed by her many friends.
She is survived by her sister, Christine Margaret Baker. She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Marion.
At Barbara’s request there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held on February 21, 2025 at 12:15 in Saint Benedict Parish followed by a reception, burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery immediately following the reception.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Saint Benedict Conference, Saint Vincent De Paul, or Hope Cottage.
Special thank you to the staff at Arborstone and Parkstone for the excellent care given to Barbara over the past couple of years, and to Doctor Ross Leighton at the QEII Orthopedics Department.
