Helen Maude Bates – 74, Bible Hill, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on Sunday morning, January 28, 2024, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Edna (Dartt) Kennedy.
She was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church and worked at Kennedy’s Deli for 30 years. Devoted to her family, she will be sorely missed by all of us.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Krista Veizi, London, England; Amber (André) Losier, Valley; grandchildren, Maddy Farrell, Valley; Nathan Veizi, London, England; siblings, Bruce (Sheila) Kennedy, Bible Hill; Judy Fraser, Truro; sister-in-law, Faye Kennedy, Truro; several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Carol (Merlin) Turner, Doug Kennedy; companion, Bradley Jones.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2024, The Reverend Lori Ramsey officiating. Reception will follow. Spring interment in Bible Hill Cemetery, 41 Warren Drive, Bible Hill. Family flowers only, please.
