Margaret Leona Benjamin, 86, of Kentville, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kenville.
Born in Port Williams, she was a daughter of the late George and Annie (Greenough) Kerr.
Margaret worked as a machine operator for Dominion Paperboard for 21 years, and at Wedgewood House for Seniors for 3 years. She loved taking spontaneous road trips, playing Skip-Bo and cribbage, as well as trips to the casino with her family.
She is survived by sons, Douglas (Marion), Alan (Terri Jamieson); daughters, Patricia (Blake) McNutt, Barbara (Leo) Rafuse; half-brother, Donnie Kerr; half-sister, Judy; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Albert Benjamin; children, Terrance "Terry" and Susan, both in infancy; and sisters, Rita and Lena, as well as her chosen sister, Vera Costa.
The funeral service (with livestream) will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Ivan Norton officiating. A private family interment will be held in Willow Bank Cemetery, Wolfville.
Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
