Sophia Patricia "Sophie" Bourke – age 79, of Kentville, passed away peacefully in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
Born in Belleoram, NFLD, she was a daughter of the late Simeon and Selena Gould.
Prior to retirement, Sophie worked in administration and tech support for Xerox and was also a certified nursing assistant. She and her first husband, William "Bill" Bourke moved to Florida in 1991. After Bill’s passing, Sophie met and married Kenneth Anderson, who also predeceased her.
Sophie is survived by her sons, William Jr. "Billy" and Scott (Jessica); daughter, Carol Bourke; brother, Michael Gould; sister, Marie (Ted) Hornick; grandchildren, Matthew, William, Holland, Jeffrey and Hanna; as well as several nieces, nephews and close friends who she considered family. In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by her parents and brother, Phillip Gould.

In keeping with Sophie’s wishes there will be no visitation. A public graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 27 at 11:00 a.m. in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 585 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville. For those unable to attend, a video webcast of the service will be available online by Friday, March 28.
