It is with sadness we announce the passing of James Arnold Broughm, age 84, of Amherst, NS. Jim passed away at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, NS, on Saturday, June 15, 2024.
Born in Lockeport, NS, he was a son of the late James and Ivy (Allen) Broughm.
He loved spending time at the camper in Upper Cape and traveling when he could. He enjoyed his friends at Tim Horton's. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to torment and tease his family and friends.
Jim is survived by his wife, Christine Stiles, Amherst; children Marla (Doug) MacDonald, Quispamsis, NB, Julia Murphy (James Holmes), Shelburne, NS, Valerie (Doug) Wamboldt, Liverpool, NS, Penny Pigott-Hass (Paul Hass), Calgary, AB; Jamie Broughm (Cecile Remington), Slave Lake, AB, Melissa Bourque, Bouctouche, NB, Philson (Samantha Gallagher) Broughm, Port Elgin, NB; step-children John (Melissa) Stiles, Fort Lawrence, NS, Alissa Stiles, Amherst, NS, Mary Stiles, Amherst, NS; grandchildren, Eddie, Barbara, Josh, Breanna, Colin, Logan, Emily, Jessica, Kaitlyn, Jason, Nathan, Kayden, Klyde, Kahli, Sawyer, Molly, Hunter, Jenna, Zachary, and Dominic; several great and great great grandchildren; sister Florence Dolliver, Angus, ON.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings Dorothy Deveau, Ivan Broughm.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777).
In keeping with Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no service at this time.
Donations in Jim's memory may be given to the Heart and Stroke, or a charity of your choice.
