New Waterford, NS
August 2, 1928 - July 30, 2024
It is with great sadness that we, the family of Kenneth Francis Bruleigh, announce his peaceful passing on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in Hospice Cape Breton.
Born August 2, 1928, in Burlington, Vermont, he was a son of the late Alva and Muriel (Robertson) Bruleigh.
Cape Breton Island became home to Kenny after moving to New Waterford as a child. Kenny was a dedicated, hard-working man and operated a successful business, Robertson Print-Craft with his uncle, Frank Robertson. Kenny loved being outdoors working in the yard and he was happiest at his cottage in Baddeck. Kenny was also an avid traveler, exploring many places over the years and meeting new people. Kenny was also a great storyteller, sharing his many life experiences.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Dolores (MacEachern); daughter, Joan Martheleur (Bill); sons, Frank (Eileen) and Warren; brother, Ross (Jane); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his former wives, Rachel Beaton and Vanessa Coulter; uncle, Frank Robertson; sister, Kay Davidson; brother, Warren; and son-in-law, Bill Martheleur.
We, the family, want to thank the staff of Palliative Care and Hospice Cape Breton for their incredible care and support.
Visitation will be held in Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday, August 2nd from 1-3 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 3 p.m. with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. Interment will take place in Upper Leitches Creek Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Hospice Palliative Society of Cape Breton County.
