CAMERON, Rosalie Eva

Antigonish, NS

May 5, 2024

Cameron, Rosalie Eva, age 76, Doctor’s Brook, Antigonish County passed away at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish on May 5, 2024.

Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nora (St. Croix) Cameron.

As a child, Rosalie moved to Antigonish and later spent time in Mabou where she attended high school. In 1971 she moved to Alberta where she started a family and had two daughters, Andrea and Shannon.

Her time in Alberta was filled with fun and many adventures including downhill skiing and camping. She enjoyed hosting family and friends who often gathered for dinners and late night sing songs where she could be found singing and dancing. She made many lifelong friendships and loved attending luncheons with her closest friends which were known as "luppers" that extended well into the evening.

After living in Alberta for many years, Rosalie returned home to Nova Scotia where she built her ‘little piece of paradise’ in Doctor’s Brook. At the beach she lived life to the fullest, swimming in the Strait and spending time with family and friends. She loved to socialize so much that she even pretended to be crafty so she could spend time with the Arisaig Rug Hookers (but she never made a thing)! She was witty and always up for fun, "Girl’s Weekend" will never be the same without her.

She cherished the many winters spent in Florida with her brother Donnie and her sister, Joan. Her love and compassion for helping others served her well in her role working with seniors at the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home.

Rosalie was strong and determined, telling everyone she was "tough as nails" after she survived having cancer three times. She provided support to others who were suffering from cancer and strongly believed that having a positive attitude was essential for healing and living your best life. She was a bright light who brought joy to those around her. She will be remembered for her love of laughter, eternal optimism and big beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her daughters, Andrea (Andy) Brand, Sturgeon County, AB; and Shannon (Terrace) Pelletier, Spruce Grove, AB; grandchildren: Ryker, Adelyn, Hayley, and Reid; and brothers, Owen (Susan), Antigonish; Donnie (Dianne), Florida.

She was predeceased by brother, Gerald (JC) and sister, Joan.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 10th at 11:00am in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Arisaig with Father John Barry presiding. Burial in St. Ninian Cemetery.

Donations in Rosalie’s honour may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Cathy’s Place at St.Martha’s Regional Hospital.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of C.L. Curry Funeral Home, Antigonish.
