The family of Billy Cameron sadly announces his passing at the age of 65 at the Halifax Infirmary Hospital on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
He will be deeply missed by his loved ones, who will always cherish the memories of his warm hospitality and generous spirit. He was the son of the late Joseph Clarence and Ella Marie (Mihan) Cameron.
Billy was predeceased by brothers Tony, Jackie and Tommy, nephew David Julien and grandson Owen Cromwell.
Billy was survived by his children Jimmy Cameron, Jessie Cameron and Charla Lilly. He is also survived by ex-wife Susan Cameron, brother Joe Cameron, sister Laura Cameron, son-in-law Dave Cromwell, grandchildren James, Sam, Kelso, Jason, Alice, Aidan and several nieces and nephews.
Billy opened his home to countless family and friends in need. He loved family dinners and his greatest joy was his grandchildren, whom he adored. He enjoyed their company and brought happiness to his life. Known for his playful teasing, Billy loved to joke around and bring smiles to those around him. Billy loved the outdoors. He enjoyed clam digging, fishing and hunting. He also loved visiting his friends and occasionally offering his services as their personal “taxi” -always willing to lend a helping hand or a ride when needed. But some of his fondest memories were made around the kitchen table at his parents’ house where he spent countless hours playing poker with his family or going to bingo. Billy also enjoyed, a little too much, playing the poker machines.
While his passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, his legacy of love, kindness, and warmth will live on. Rest in Peace Billy.
Cremation has taken place. As per his wishes, there will be no service.
