Carroll, Courtney Lynn

Lower Sackville, NS

January 15, 1992 - November 01, 2024

Carroll, Courtney Lynn,  32, of Lower Sackville, formerly Sherbrooke, NS, passed away suddenly on Friday November 1st 2024.

Born in Antigonish on January 15th 1992, she was a daughter of Sherry Lynn Sewards (Vasil) and Farlie Carroll.

Courtney was one-of-a-kind, the most caring, selfless, bubbly soul you’d ever meet. Always so positive, she would brighten every room she entered with her infectious smile and energy. She was kind to every single person whether she knew them or not, and would do anything for anybody. Anyone who met Courtney will never forget her. Courtney was the definition of a good person. She was grateful for everyone and everything in her life. She said it best "No matter where you are or who you are with, be grateful for them. EVERYONE. Family, friends, coworkers, even your church family. We are all in this crazy world making the best of every moment."

She loved to spend time with her family and friends, helping tackle any project they’d be in the middle of during one of her surprise visits. Meanwhile, Courtney and Matt planned for their future together. Courtney enjoyed singing, dancing, playing games and many sports, snuggling Sneakers, going to church, watching movies, eating popcorn, and going to the race track.

Courtney was the crew-chief of the Carroll Racing team, game coordinator for HSSC, and a member of her church choir. Yet, she worked just as hard at her day job, helping the nurses at NSCN.

Besides her parents, she is survived by her boyfriend Matt Giles, Stewiacke; sister Lisa (Michael Romo) Carroll, Ardoise; step-parents Laura Banks, Port Hilford, and Tim Sewards, Sackville; step-sister Caleigh (Gilles) Marchand, Mount Uniacke; step-brother Cody Sewards; Uncles, Aunts, cousins, many friends, and her cat Sneakers.

Courtney was predeceased by her grandparents Sharon and Bill Vasil, Lillian and Robert Carroll; Uncle David Vasil; step-father Francis Linden.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday in St. James Presbyterian Church, Sherbrooke Village, Sherbrooke, NS at 1:00pm, Reverend Derek Elsworth officiating.   A private burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Sherbrooke. Family flowers only please.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
