CLEMENTS-GIBSON, Phyllis Audrey

Phyllis Audrey (Gibson) Clements - 93, lifelong resident of Gibson Woods, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2024 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Gibson Woods, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Bessie (Gibson) Viner.


Prior to retirement, Phyllis was a Personal Care and Support worker for the Municipality of Kings. In her younger years, she worked for Maple Leaf Poultry, formerly Canard Poultry, as well as for Wright’s Clothing Store in Kentville. She was an active member and former Deacon of Gibson Woods United Baptist Church and a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 006 Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Legion Colour Party.


Phyllis is survived by her sons, Reginald (Teresa), Whitehorse, Yukon; Leslie (Rhonda Cromwell), Gibson Woods; and Joseph, Kentville; daughters, Susan Clements-Anderson (Dan Dubreuil), Eastern Passage; Audrey (Donald) Bowen, Eastern Passage; Patricia (Robert) Okoh, Ottawa, ON; sister, Helena Jackson, Gibson Woods; grandchildren, Amber Young, Tara Anderson, Madison Clements-Dubreuil, Kayla Clements, Jordan Svennes and Claire Boeckner; four great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; as well as many nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harold Clements; brothers, Burlen and Harold "Alfie"; sisters, Frances Taylor and Yvonne "Bonnie" (Viner) States; and daughter-in-law, Lorraine Clements.


Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, with a Legion service at 5:30 p.m. The funeral service (with livestream) will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, in the White Family Funeral Home with a reception to follow. Pastor Stephen Gough officiating. Interment will take place in Gibson Woods Cemetery at a later date.


Donations in memory may be made to Gibson Woods United Baptist Church or a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
