Sydney, NS
February 4, 1931 - January 5, 2025
We, the family of Mary Catherine (MacIntyre) Eisan, 93, of Sydney are saddened to announce her passing on January 5, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family, 5 years from the day she lost her best friend and husband of 60 years (Junior) who could wait no longer to call his Mary home.
Born in Gabarus on February 4, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Agnes (MacLellan) MacIntyre. She attended Cape Breton Business College and was employed at J. W. Stephens Building Supplies until she began her lifetime career of Homemaker and Mother. In her younger years she enjoyed going to bingo, baking and spending summers in Gabarus with her family. She was a member of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish and was a member of the CWL receiving her 50 year pin from her sister Theresa. She volunteered collecting for the Cancer Society for many years. She loved spending time with her husband, children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren always brought a smile to her face and they will cherish their memories spent with Nanny forever.
Our Mom was a strong woman of great faith saying her rosary and attending church. She enjoyed simple pleasures of watching her mystery shows and having her favourites blueberry muffins, grilled cheese and a good cup of tea.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Margie), John (Karen), Willie (Leah), Agnes (Kevin) Johnston, Mark (Debbie); grandchildren, Rob, Daniel, Ambyr, John, Kaitlyn, Ashley and Chelsea; great grandchildren, Bailey, Oaklyn, Lennox, Laynie, Harper, Thomas, Gavin, Ryleigh, Parker, Kylie, Layne, Liam, Lenna and Emma, and 2 more great grandchildren on the way; brother James MacIntyre, sisters-in-law, Charlotte MacIntyre and Lynn MacIntyre and brothers-in-law Jerry Miller and Donnie (Ida) Eisan and her many nieces and nephews, whom she adored.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert (Junior) Eisan, great granddaughter, Cassidy; brothers Dan A., Willie and John Norman in childhood; sisters Theresa Miller and Emma; sisters-in law Betty MacIntyre and Roberta (Art) Flannigan.
Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Mass for Shut Ins.
