FARMER, Sylvia Jeneice

Middleton, NS

August 5, 1945 - June 21, 2024

On June 21, 2024, our mother went peacefully into the arms of the Lord.  Mom was born and raised in Birchtown, Nova Scotia.

She spent the majority of her life in Halifax where she made friends that were known to her as family.  In her later years she moved to the Annapolis Valley and ended up in Middleton, NS (a place she adored) until she took her final breath.  Mom made the decision to give her heart to the Lord on March 29, 2005, and never looked back.

For anyone that knew our mom, knew what a drastic life change this was.  Moms’ life was a true testament to the fact that God is and always will be waiting and ready to accept anyone that asks him into their lives, because we are all sinners saved by Gods grace.

Mom spent the better part of her last years as a missionary with Genesis Christian Ministries, professing God’s everlasting love and mercy which she shared with everyone. Each one of her steps for the last 19 years have been ordered by the Lord.  Mom life was a true testimony which she shared with many, from humble beginnings to a life filled with everlasting joy and peace.

Her love for reading and puzzling (or her paperwork, as her son in law deemed it) kept her mind active when she was no longer able to travel.

She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Cynthia “Lovey”, Gatineau, Quebec, Alana (Mark) Dunn, Ajax, Ontario, grandsons, Aaron, Gatineau, Quebec, Stephen, Saskatchewan, Regina, Isaiah, Ajax, Ontario, niece Sandra Burke, Winchester, Ontario.

Great grandchildren DeAsia Sattler, Trinity Ranville, Vancouver British Columbia, Layla Blair, Calgary Alberta and Liam Logan, Halifax, Nova Scotia. She also leaves behind several great nieces and nephews.

Sylvia was predeceased by her parents Sylvia Bernice Jackson and Alfred George Farmer, brother Alan George (Ducky) Farmer, sister Voila (Bunny) Farmer and 2 siblings in infancy.

Our mom was a very special person, who had time for anyone, and wanted everyone to know just how much Jesus loved them. Her life was not unblemished, however, whenever times of worry came about, she would lean on the Lord’s unchanging word, love and grace casting all her cares upon him.

As a tribute to her life, we will leave you with a few passages, Romans 10:9; Romans 3:23; 1Peter 5:7; Psalms 51:10-12. We never missed an opportunity to tell her we loved her, and her response was always “I love you too, but Jesus loves you more”.

Special thank you to those who cared for our mom and treated her as though she was family in her final years.

Donations in her memory can be made to the Canadian Bible Society.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St.
