It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorraine Beverly Gannon Sr.
Lorraine was born November 6,1940 to the late Leroy Brown and Ethel Mae Brown (nee Slawter).
Lorraine married the late James Francis Gannon Sr. December 2, 1961, and they had 9 children. Children. Sons- James (Carrie), Troy (Helen), Derrick (Natalie), Carlos, Roberto. Daughters- Densil, Angel, Palas (Jim), Lorraine (Tiny).
Lorraine had a career in Hospitality at the Holiday Inn (Montreal) which she loved very much. Lorraine was a lover of music, painting, crocheting and fashion. She had a beautiful voice; we would often hear her harmonizing throughout the house. She was a phenomenal cook and loved cooking for her loved ones. Lorraine enjoyed traveling, socializing and reminiscing with family and friends. Her sharp memory allowed her to share many historic and funny memories of the past. Lorraine was hilarious, she was known for her sense of humour and witty banter.
Lorraine is survived by her 9 children. 18 Grandchildren- 10 great-grandchildren. Brother-Derrick. Sisters- Maxine, Debora, Carolyn, Sharon, Sylvia.
She was predeceased by her husband, James. Her brother, Leonard. Sisters, Juanita, Irene and Vivian. Lorraine will be missed by all that we’re fortunate to have known her.
There will be a visitation held on Thursday January 2nd, 2025, at Dartmouth Funeral Home 29 Queen Street Dartmouth NS from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
A celebration of life gathering & reception will be held on January 3rd ,2025 at Trinity Church 321 Main Ave. Halifax - from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
