Antigonish, NS
November 6, 2024
Jordan, Pearl Lorella, age 88, Antigonish, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Antigonish, she was the daughter of the late Waldo and Minnie (Cameron) Hensbee.
Pearl grew up in Eight Island Lake with her siblings. She enjoyed going for walks and exploring the outdoors. She excelled in school and had many dreams of expanding her horizons and going to work at the Sherbrooke and Antigonish hospitals. A few years later she met the love of her life, Gordon Jordan and the rest was history. They got married in June of 1954 and later on had their only son Jackie. As a family they moved to Jordanville and made that home for the next 10 years.
In the years to follow they moved to Antigonish, where Pearl and Jackie both helped out with Gordon’s trucking business, G.L. Jordan Trucking Ltd. Pearl also worked for many years at the High Crest Nursing Home in Antigonish where she made many friends and met a lot of people whose lives she touched by being present. She was most happy when she helped other in needs and made new friends.
Pearl was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her grandchildren will attest to her skill as a baker. They looked forward to their visits and her delicious date squares, cinnamon rolls and ginger snaps. She loved dancing, playing cards and reading, especially Danielle Steele novels. Pearl read them all! She was always willing to challenge us all to an exciting game of crib, in which we usually lost.
She is survived by her son, Jackie Jordan, Antigonish, ; grandchildren: Shawna Murray (Trevor) Mulgrave, Evan Jordan (Crystal) Antigonish, Quentin Jordan, Antigonish, Haley Jordan (Travis Landry) Antigonish, very special daughter-in-law, Margaret Jordan who was there and helped her during her time of need and sickness. great grandchildren: John, Catherine, Emily Beaton and Charley and Alaric Jordan all of Antigonish; brothers: Delbert (Patricia), Antigonish; Wendell, Goshen; sister, Gloria MacQuarrie, Port Hawkesbury, also her many nieces and nephews.

In Loving Memory of our Wonderful Mother/Grandmother
Of all the special gifts in life however great or small, to have you as our Mother/Grandmother was the greatest gift of all. May the winds of love blow softly and whisper in your ear "We love and miss you Mother/Grandmother and wish that you were here" Deep in our hearts, your life is kept to love and cherish, not forget. No more tomorrows we can share but yesterdays are always there. A silent thought, a secret tear keeps your memory ever near in our hearts forever.
