It is with heavy hearts that we, the family announce the sudden passing of Melvin John Lemoine on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born on September 20, 1957, in Sydney, Melvin was a son of the late Montford and Annie ‘Tootsi’ Lemoine of Louisbourg.
After many years of working out West, Melvin retired and moved back home to Cape Breton. He had many passions including, taking scenic pictures, gardening, and casting his fishing line any chance he had. Melvin was always ready to lend a helping hand. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Melvin is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Lynn Constantine (Angela Marie), Kamloops, BC; son, Michael Lemoine, Edmonton, Ab; loving grandchildren, Hailey, Taylor, and Jade; siblings, Ann, Vera, (Gordie), Linda (Joe), Kim, Timmie (Rayanne), Phillip and Wayne (Deanna); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
There will be no visitation for the late Melvin Lemoine. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
Donations in memory of Melvin may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
