LEWIS, Verna Ruth ~ Age 82, of Digby, formerly of South Range, NS, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, in Tideview Terrace, Digby.

Born in Hill Grove, NS, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy (Wright) McCullough.Verna loved people so much that her family often teased her about it. She enjoyed entertaining and her daughters remember growing up with what seemed like a constant house full of company at mealtime.

Known for her exceptional baking and cooking, Verna was especially famous for her doughnuts and homemade bread. She spent many hours quilting, sewing, knitting, and doing crossword puzzles. Verna had a great sense of humor and was always ready to lend a hand to family or community members in need. She adored her husband Keith and cherished their time together at the camp, on day trips, and fishing.

As a homemaker, Verna poured her heart and soul into creating a cozy and loving home for her family. She worked hard alongside Keith on the fur farm, in the garden, and in the woods whenever necessary. Verna was a lifelong member of the South Range Christian Church, and her relationship with Jesus was of great importance to her. She hoped that all her family would develop their own relationship with Jesus and was known as a prayer warrior who prayed for others' needs.

In 2021, Verna and her family made the difficult decision to move to Tideview Terrace, where she received wonderful care. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff for the love and support they provided, particularly those who prayed and sang with her.

Verna is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Craig) Glavin of Weymouth; and Darlene (Gene) D’Eon of South Range; her sisters, Alice White of Hampton, ON; and Linda (Vernon) Sabean of Weymouth North; her brother, Arnold (Betty) McCullough of Fredericton; grandchildren, Nick (Morgan) Glavin, Jenna (Justin) Gaudett, Keith (Tarissa) D’Eon, and Bee (Matt) Stanton; her special great-grandsons, Lincoln, Craig, and Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her soulmate and husband, Keith.
