It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vittorio Liberatore, who left us peacefully at the age of 85.
Born in Italy, Vittorio immigrated to Halifax, NS in 1965 with his family.
Vittorio is survived by his wife of 65 years Bianca Liberatore, his children Massimo (Trisha Liberatore), and Lorella (Gary Vardy), his grandchildren, Alexandria, Mitchell, Raine, and Reese, step-grandchildren Mikeal and Rylee, and great-granddaughter Savionna.
Vittorio was predeceased by his infant daughter, Marina, a loss that he carried with him throughout his life and both his parents Antonio and Giovanna Liberatore.
Vittorio was an entrepreneur who owned many hair salon businesses including Vittorio's Barber Shop in the heart of downtown Halifax. His shop was not just a place for haircuts, but a gathering spot filled with laughter, stories, and the warmth of his presence. Vittorio's skill and charm made him a cherished figure in his community.
Vittorio was a devoted family man, whose love for his family was evident in everything he did. He found immense joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever. His family brought immense happiness and pride to his life, and he looked forward to their weekly Sunday visit for lunch.
One of Vittorio's greatest passions was singing. Whether it was a traditional Italian song in the choir or a heartfelt serenade, his voice brought joy to many. His love for music was a testament to his vibrant spirit and zest for life.
Vittorio leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May his soul rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made to QE II Health Sciences Centre or to a charity of choice, in Vittorio's memory.
