Ben Eoin, NS

June 18, 2024

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Beverly Ann MacDonald, announce her passing on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, at the age of 85, after a short battle with cancer.

Born in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Renzie and Mary Agnes (McPhail) Lockman.

Beverly spent a large part of her life in Loch Lomond raising her four boys before moving to Ben Eoin where she spent over 20 years. During her time in Loch Lomond she enjoyed snowmobiling with her family and friends, and in the summer took great pride in her beautiful flowers. During blueberry season you could always find Beverly in the field filling her buckets so her family could enjoy her wonderful blueberry pies.

She was a devoted member of the Sydney Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 50 years. Her faith, and the promise the bible has for a time when there will be no more pain, sorrow or death here on earth, allowed her to pass on peacefully. We know she is now secure in God’s memory until that time.

Beverly is survived by her sons, Clyde (Susanne), Fall River, Darcy (Joline), Albert Bridge and Avery (Jan), Sydney Forks; grandchildren, Darian, Catherine, Michelle and Bailey; sister, Marlyn (Hector) Winkler, Ont., and daughter-in-law, Lloydette MacDonald, Catalone.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Hazen; son, Kurt; and sister, Shirley Koziel.

The family is grateful for the wonderful care given to Beverly by the many doctors and nurses who supported her, and to all of her family and friends who showed so much love, kindness and generosity.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. A service will be held on Friday, June 28th at 11am at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Alexandra St., Sydney. All are welcome. A private family interment will take place in MacKeigan Cemetery, Loch Lomond at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the MacCuish – MacKeigan Cemetery by emailing maccuishmackeigancemetery@gmail.com
