MACDONALD LAWRENCE, Carol Anne

Cow Bay, NS

May 8, 2024

Carol Anne Lawrence-MacDonald passed away peacefully at Dartmouth General Hospital on Thursday May 8, 2024 with her loving husband John, son, Robert and sister, Dale at her side. Born in Halifax to Edward and Mary (Gracie) Lawrence and raised in Herring Cove, Carol was a long-time resident of Cow Bay.

Prior to her illness, Carol was first and foremost a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a caring daughter, an adventurous younger sister, a loving aunt and a good friend. Not often spoken of, she was also a breast cancer survivor. As a teenager, Carol was an exceptional pool player who rarely lost a game even among those who were considered more talented and experienced than such a “little girl’’. She enjoyed scuba diving, and felt incredibly proud and accomplished when she obtained her motor cycle license. During her working career she was employed by Maritime Medical Care (MSI) followed by employment with the Nova Scotia Research Foundation, INNOVACORP.

During their early years together, Carol enjoyed life in Upper Stewiacke with John and, while he was working in Truro, the spent every weekend at the farm with their dogs and cats and many friends who lived nearby or frequently visited. Until illness took control, she had a full and exciting life and she was and continues to be, dearly loved. Through her last few months, she continued to respond to ‘Cule’ a name affectionately given to her at birth because of her petite stature.

As well as her parents, Carol was predeceased by John’s parents, Rita and  Alexander (Sandy) MacDonald, brothers-in-law Robert and Donald.

She leaves to mourn her husband John, son Robert, granddaughter Lorelei, brother Kerry (Ann), sister Dale, dear friend Margaret (Margie) Sullivan, sisters-in-law Colleen, Anna, Paula (Terry), Lorraine (Dave), Bev, and a very large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins in Halifax, Dartmouth, Cape Breton, British Columbia and Seattle, USA

Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 Friday, May 31, 2024 in Eastern Passage Community Funeral Home, 5 Cow Bay Road, Eastern Passage. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 1, 2024 in St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, Eastern Passage.
