MACPHERSON, Earl B.

Antigonish, NS

June 17, 2024


It is with deep sadness the family of Earl B. MacPherson  (89 yrs.) announce his sudden passing as a result of a motor vehicle accident on June,17th.  


He was the son of the late John Earl MacPherson and Margaret (Druhan) MacPherson of Glen Road, Antigonish.


Over the years he was employed in various industries including mining, mechanics, welding, and carpentry. Being skilled at mechanical repairs he could always be found working on vehicles.


Earl had an easy-going nature, with a positive outlook on life. In recent years he loved being at his Heatherton home, enjoying the birds and wildlife that made his veranda their home. A family man, he was dedicated to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He enjoyed many visits and being surrounded by his family. Earl loved driving and spent many years enjoying the countryside with his late wife Winnie.


Earl is survived by his sons: Lloyd Chisholm; Bernie (Debbie); Garnet (Evelyn); daughters: Sharon (Marty);  Wanda, all living in Antigonish, Bernadette (Darren) N.B.; son-in-law Bruce Antigonish;  grandchildren: Jason, Loresa; Craig J., Mary Jean; Jennifer, Morgan, Tyler; Craig A, Megan; Felicia, Jennah; Christopher, Kegan, Brandon; Troy, Jordan; great grandchildren: Beatrice; Brayden; Chase, Carson; Daxon, Odin, Harper; brothers: Jerome,Ontario, Robert(Darlene) Antigonish; sisters: Reta Isabel, Quebec;  Georgina,B.C.;  Audrey (Mike); Evelyn, Antigonish; sister-in-law Mary Antigonish.


Predeceased by his wife Winnifred (Bingley), son Michael (infancy), daughters: Michelle and Valerie; granddaughter Crystal; sisters: Joan (infancy) and Leonella; brothers: Bernard, Allister, Aubrey, Joseph; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.


The family is thankful for the efforts of the first responders at the accident scene. Earl will never be forgotten and leaves behind many cherished memories. 


Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish  on Monday, June 24th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.  A private funeral service will be held in C.L. Curry Funeral Home on Tuesday with burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Lochaber.
