It is with deep and profound sadness we must announce the passing of Darrell Frank Mitchell, 54 years, of Springhill, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 as the result of a house fire.
Born in Attleboro, Mass., he was a son of the late George A. "Chick" and Marianne (Turner) Mitchell.Darrell loved watching WWF, WWE and RAW wrestling with Stone Cold Steve Austin who his son Austin was named after. He was also a lover of hard Rock and Heavy Metal music, his favourites being Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Metallica.
Darrell is survived by his wife the former Tracy MacKenzie; son, Austin; daughter, Emily (Ashley); step daughter, Eden (Dustin); grandchildren, Damien, Dominic, Dennis, Emma; step grandchildren, Jayden and Myles; brother, Steven (Kelly); many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, In-laws and extended family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by Paternal Grandparents, Richard "Dick" and Tena Mitchell; Maternal Grandparents, Robert "Bob" and Esther Turner; Mother in law, Christine MacKenzie; Brothers in law, Gary "Danny" Simmonds and George MacKenzie.
A Celebration of Life as well as a Private family Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
If so desired, donations to assist the family with expenses would be appreciated.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the First Responders, Firemen, RCMP from Springhill and all surrounding communities.
Also thank-you to all who have given donations and showed us so much caring and kindness and helped in so many ways.
