Springhill, NS
June 17, 2024
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Barbara Jeane Moore, 81 years, of Springhill, on Tuesday, June 17, 2024 in The East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash.
Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Horace G. and Hazel (Ward) Brown.
Barb's most important love was her family. Michael, her husband of 38 years, was her rock. Their passion for one another was strong and lasted until the moment she passed. They are reunited once again.
She adored being a mom and a nana, making arts and crafts with the kids, giving them a hug, when they (or she) needed it. She gave back endlessly to the community volunteering for CGIT, Allied Youth, IODE, and being an Elementary Teacher. If she heard someone wasn't well, she would try to reach out to them and extend her care and support. An active member of St. Andrews Wesley United Church, she participated over the years in just about every facet of the church. Their cottage along the Pugwash shore brought her and her family many years of joy.
She was a great believer in preserving memories, either through her photography or writing. She received great therapy composing poetry, writing letters, or journaling. Her endless past times included puzzling, and planning any event she could help with. Her sweet tooth loved ice cream, enjoying a diet pepsi, and a taste of pumpkin pie.
She will be dearly missed by her son Andrew (Bonnie) Moore, Springhill; grandchildren, Emily (Rob) Hudson, Meaghan Moore, Seamus (Rita Clare LeBlanc) and Anna Moore; great grandchildren Angus and Piper Mills, Graham and Theo Hudson; a sister, Sidney Myatt, Dartmouth, NS.
She was predeceased by her husband Michael Moore and great grandson Finley.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361) where visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 6 to 8 pm. Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 2 pm, the Reverend K. Ruth Gamble officiating. Burial will take place in the Rodney Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Barb may be made to the St. Andrew's Wesley United Church, Alzheimer's Society, or the charity of your choice.
