MURPHY, Susan Elizabeth 73, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home on Friday, June 21, 2024.
Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Robert Stanley Robinson and Irene Doris Eveleigh. Susan was a master hairstylist at Zanzibar Hair Studio and retired after 35 years to help with caring for her two grandsons.
Susan loved spending time with her daughters, her sister, extended family and friends. Her many family dinners, trips away with her friend Gwen, and times spent with her card playing friends, bingo buddies, her former hairdressing colleagues, and her Saturday Timberlea Tavern ladies were a huge source of joy and created many cherished memories.
Susan is survived by her daughters Lynne Morash (David) and Janis Poteri (Mike); her grandsons (her pride and joy) Evan and Ryan Morash; her step-mother Sherry Robinson (Mike); sister Sarah Robinson (Ronnie); nephew Jay Robinson; niece Annaleigh McDonald; brother-in-law Lawrence Murphy (Heather), Ottawa; Doug Murphy (Kathy), New Brunswick; sister-in-law Mary Knox (Terry), Fox Point along with several extended family members; and last, but certainly not least, her best friend and chosen sister, Shirley Chinn.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Edward Murphy, brother-in-law Peter Murphy, sister-in-law Cheryl Murphy, parents-in-law Duke and Elizabeth Murphy. Cremation has taken place.
A graveside ceremony for family and close friends will be held on July 3 at 10:00 am at Sunset Park Inter-faith Cemetery, 2025 Prospect Rd., Hatchet Lake, followed by a celebration of life at the Fairview Legion from 12 - 4 pm
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the MS Society in Mom's name.
