O'Brien, Marlene Rita

O’Brien, Marlene Rita, age 63, of Antigonish passed away on April 5, 2025, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.

Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Hughie and Helena (Kelly) MacGillivary.

Marlene enjoyed her work as a PCW and doing home care.  Marlene’s favourite thing was taking drives to the beach.  She also enjoyed bible study, bingo, playing cards, and watching her favourite shows, which were mainly either cartoons or CSI.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy; children, Melissa Ebbett, and Katrina (Michael) Worth, both of Antigonish; grandchildren, Kristian Ebbett, Tayler Ebbett, Jordan Ebbett (Larry), Nina Worth (Trevor), Heidi Worth (Mat), Riley Worth, and Ben Worth; great-grandchildren, Novah, Esme, Alex, Helena, Claira, and Alayah; sisters, Michelle MacGillivary and Marina (Jim) Green, both of Antigonish; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, Michael and Stephen, and her sister, Wanda Lee.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1 to 3pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish.  Funeral service will be held in the funeral home that day at 5pm.
