We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Jerome Peters, on July 2nd, 2024, at the QEII Infirmary, Halifax.
Jerome was born on July 26th, 1957, in Halifax. He was the son of the late Morris and Loretta (Pottie) Peters.
Following in his father's footsteps, Jerome was a hard-working longshoreman and crane operator at Haltern and Ceres (Local ILA 269) until he retired in 2022.
Jerome is survived by his loving wife, Brenda (Demone) and his daughters Kristy Peters (Matthew), and Jillian Peters (Jonathan) as well as his three grandchildren Madison Rowsell, Quinn Hawes, and Nolan Rowsell.
Jerome is also survived by his sister Brenda Thompson (Gary), aunts and uncles.
Jerome is predeceased by his father Morris Peters, mother Loretta Peters, many aunts and uncles, son-in-law Sheldon Rowsell, and his beloved family pets Puggles, and Bailey.
Jerome was known for his love of classic cars and trucks, hunting, and four-wheeling, his sense of humour, his admiration of his children and grandchildren, and his passion for animals. Jerome has always been the favourite of every family pet. Jerome will be forever missed by his wife, children, and grandchildren Madison, Quinn and Nolan. His dedication to his family and his job is the core of his legacy.
The family would like to thank everyone who helped Jerome and his family during the last year. Your kindness has been much appreciated, and we could not have done it without you. Especially Glenn and Judy Landry and Murray Edmonds.
In place of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to an animal shelter in Jerome’s name.
Cremation has taken place under the care of J. A Snow Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at J.A Snow Funeral Home 339 Lacewood Drive Halifax on Wednesday, July 10th, 2024, at 10 AM.
