Edward “Eddie” Richey passed away, at the age of 79, in Celtic Court Nursing Home, Sydney, where he had been a resident for the last five years, on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, with his loving wife by his side.
Eddie grew up in Ashby, the only son the late George and Sally (Higgins) Richey.
Eddie loved playing guitar at the local halls with his band, the Impalas, where he met Sherry. They were married for 54 years.
For a short time, Eddie worked at the Sydney Steel Plant, retiring due to ill health.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Sherry (Clancey) Richey; son, Mike (Jenna), Halifax; and sister, Beverly, Edmonton.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held in Resurrection Cemetery on Wednesday, June 26th at 1 p.m. with Rev. Norman MacPhee officiating.
A sincere thank you to the staff of Celtic Court for the excellent care provided to Eddie. It was truly appreciated.
