It is with deep sorrow and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend Donna Ruth Ripley, age 76, of Amherst, Nova Scotia . Donna passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2024 at her home surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Amherst, she was the daughter of the late Vaughan and Florence "Scottie" (MacKenzie) Allen.
Donna had a passion for yoga and teaching. She spent her summers at Amherst Shore and could be found leading yoga sessions on the flats, swimming with her dear friends or walking along the beach looking for sea glass with her cherished grandchildren. She also enjoyed music, line dancing, reading and found so much happiness enjoying time with her girlfriends and many day trips, concerts and suppers out around the beautiful coast with Sandy.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Sandy Ripley, daughter Karen Carruthers (Ross), son Matt (Ann), grandchildren Sophie, Sutton, Jacob and Leah, brother John Allen (Janey), sisters Lola Gray (Isaac), Darlene Clark (Lorne), Diane Carruthers (Ian) as well as countless relatives, friends and yogis.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff with the VON, Palliative Care Team, and Lawtons Drugs. Special thanks to Kelsey, Amy, Robin, Heather, Ian, Maria, Joan, Maria H and Dr. Short.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Donna’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice as she embraced so many.
