It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of David on the 29th of May 2024 after a short battle with cancer.
Born in London England in September 1953, David and his parents immigrated to Canada in 1957.
After spending most of his childhood growing up in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, David joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1971 as an AVS Tech. After a successful and lengthy stay in the regular and reserve forces David retired with combined service of 42 years in 2013.
An avid golfer and curler, David is well known for his competitive spirit and success on both the course and ice. David was a passionate advocate for the development of Junior curling in the Greenwood area and thoroughly enjoyed surfing the waves when at the beach.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Morley, his mother Margaret, Bedford NS, brothers Ian(Nancy), Bedford NS and Scott (Wendy) Nipigon, ON.
David will be missed by all who knew him but especially by his many friends at the Paragon Golf & Country Club and the Greenwood Curling Club where he served as president for many years. He will also be missed by the many who benefited from his thrift shopping skills at every Frenchy’s store between Halifax and Mavillette.
As per his wishes cremation has already taken place and no memorial service is being planned at this time.
