Doris Louise Wright – 91, of Berwick, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 in Grand View Manor, Berwick.
Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Robin and Jessica (Romans) Gosling.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Brian) James; sons, Donnie (Tammie), Wayne (Pat), Kenny (Donna); 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William; daughter, Wendy Kelly; sons, John and Robin; brothers, Robert and Les and sister, Florence.
Doris worked as a custodian at the Old Halifax Infirmary for 28 years. She lived in Halifax all her life and in 2005, she moved to New Minas to be close to her children. She enjoyed dancing in her younger years, loved the Toronto Maple Leafs, saying they were her boys. Doris was a great dart player and enjoyed playing bingo. Her favorite tv show was Coronation Street.
In keeping with Doris’ wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held on September 28, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Immediately after the graveside service, there will be a celebration of life for family and friends at the Centreville Community Hall, located at 1951 Hwy 359, Centreville.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the nurses at Valley Regional Hospital and the staff at Grand View Manor for their excellent care of Doris.
